Srinagar, June 23 -- Srinagar- As the holy month of Muharram unfolds, the historic quarters of Srinagar have once again transformed into a landscape of mourning and remembrance, with black banners adorning streets and devotees gathering to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who was martyred in the Battle of Karbala over 1,400 years ago.

Amid the traditional observances that define Muharram in Kashmir, a unique initiative aimed at connecting younger generations with the legacy of Karbala was launched in Srinagar's Old City.
