Srinagar, July 18 -- Ghulam Nabi Wani unlocks his grocery shop in Koker Bazar every morning at seven, just as his father did and his grandfather before him.
His shelves are stocked with rice, cooking oil, tea, sugar, biscuits and small packets of spices that regular customers have bought for years.
A thick ledger sits behind the counter, recording purchases made on trust by families he has known for generations.
That trust sustained his business for five decades, often meaning more than any single day's sales.
This summer, something changed.
Fewer customers walked through the door. Some started sending messages asking if he could deliver groceries to their homes, others simply stopped coming.
