India, Oct. 6 -- The Union Cabinet on Tuesday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 25 years of uninterrupted leadership as head of government, first as Gujarat chief minister and later as prime minister, saying his journey has been guided by the principle of "Nation First and Citizen First".

In a resolution adopted at its meeting, the Cabinet said three electoral mandates in Gujarat and victories in three successive Lok Sabha elections reflected the "enduring trust" placed in Modi by the people.

Briefing reporters, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the resolution was more than a customary tribute and sought to highlight the continuity between Modi's governance in Gujarat and his tenure as prime minister.
