Srinagar, Sept. 8 -- Srinagar- A motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run road accident in the Kalai area of Poonch district on Tuesday morning, officials said.

The accident occurred near Kalai, between Khanetar and Kalai, when an unidentified vehicle allegedly hit the motorcycle, resulting in the rider's death on the spot, officials said, as per news agency GNS.

The deceased was identified as Mehmood Ahmed, son of Abdul Latief, a resident of Khanetar, Poonch.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation to trace the vehicle involved in the accident.
