India, Oct. 14 -- A man was injured in a bear attack in Parigam area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district on Wednesday, officials said.

An official said that the man was attacked by a wild bear in Parigam.

He said the injured man was shifted to hospital, where he was identified as Muzaffar Ahmad Ganie, son of Mohammad Ramzan, a resident of Hariparigam, reported news agency KNO.

Meanwhile, locals urged the authorities to take measures to prevent further bear attacks.
