Srinagar, Sept. 12 -- Srinagar- Anantnag Police on Saturday conducted a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) at 20 locations in the Waghama area of the district as part of an intensified crackdown on drug peddling, officials said.

An official said 13 suspected drug peddlers were picked up for questioning during the coordinated operation.

The operation was aimed at identifying and dismantling local networks allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade and disrupting the supply chain, he said.

The official said the CASO was part of sustained and intelligence-based action against individuals and networks involved in drug peddling across the district.
