India, Oct. 29 -- The District Magistrate Anantnag has declared the District Bar Association elections held on October 27 as null and void, citing violation of official orders and non-fulfilment of mandatory requirements.

According to an order issued by the District Magistrate, the election process had been prohibited in January 2025 pending submission of documents, including the association's registration certificate, constitution or memorandum of association, bye-laws, membership details and financial records.

The prohibition was reiterated through an order dated September 28, 2026, and remains in force, the order stated.
