Srinagar, July 18 -- Srinagar- The annual Amarnath Yatra will remain temporarily suspended from both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes from July 19 due to an adverse weather forecast, authorities said on Saturday.

The decision was taken as a precautionary measure following the India Meteorological Department's forecast of inclement weather over the next few days to ensure the safety and well-being of pilgrims.

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg said no onward movement of pilgrims will be allowed from the Baltal and Nunwan/Chandanwari base camps from July 19.
