Srinagar, May 13 -- Srinagar- A delegation of Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) comprising State Secretary Sheikh Ashiq and Party Spokesperson Firdous Baba visited the protesting contractors associated with the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), who have been agitating over non-payment of their pending dues.

The delegation interacted with the aggrieved contractors and took stock of their grievances. The contractors apprised the delegation of the severe financial distress they are facing due to inordinate delays in release of payments, despite completion of works under the JJM.
