Srinagar, Aug. 20 -- Srinagar- The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau on Thursday arrested a junior building inspector of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.10,000, officials said.

Gazala Akhter, posted as Junior Building Inspector in SMC Ward No. 28, Srinagar, was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe from a complainant, they said.

According to the ACB, the complainant alleged that Akhter had demanded illegal gratification in connection with the construction of two structures, despite the required building permission having already been obtained from the competent authority.
