Srinagar, Sept. 11 -- Srinagar- The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday arrested a Patwari after allegedly catching him red-handed while demanding and accepting a Rs 10,000 bribe for issuing a revenue extract (Fard) in Budgam district.

According to an ACB spokesperson, the bureau received a written complaint alleging that Bashir Ahmad Dar, Patwari Halqa Gund Ali Nayak, Waterrehal, had demanded illegal gratification for issuing the document.

The complainant, a resident of Gund Ali Nayak, Waterrehal, Tehsil Khansahab, had applied online for issuance of the Fard on July 21 on behalf of his elderly grandfather, who was unable to pursue the matter himself.
