A Sea of Black: Mourners Mark 8th Muharram In Srinagar
Srinagar, June 24 -- Srinagar- Thousands of mourners on Wednesday participated in the traditional 8th Muharram procession in Srinagar, turning the city centre into a sea of black as devotees commemorated the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions in Karbala.
The procession, revived in 2023 after remaining suspended for more than three decades, was taken out peacefully along the traditional Guru Bazar-Dalgate route amid elaborate security and civic arrangements.
