Srinagar, July 22 -- Jammu- Joint teams of the police and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) on Wednesday continued an extensive search operation for nine people who remain missing after devastating flash floods struck Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district earlier this week.

At least 16 people lost their lives while nine others went missing after torrential rains triggered flash floods and landslides across the border districts of Poonch and Rajouri on Sunday and Monday. The disaster caused widespread damage to roads, houses and other public and private infrastructure.
