Srinagar, Sept. 24 -- Srinagar- Around 88 per cent of the Scheduled Tribe-II (ST-II) certificates issued to eligible members of Pahari ethnic groups in Jammu and Kashmir have been issued in the Jammu division, according to data tabled in the Legislative Assembly on Thursday.

The government informed the House that a total of 5,73,667 ST-II certificates have been issued across the Union Territory.

Of these, 5,04,007 certificates, or about 88 per cent, were issued in the Jammu division, while 69,660, or around 12 per cent, were issued in the Kashmir division.

The figures were provided by the Minister in charge of Revenue in response to a question raised by MLA Narinder Singh Raina.
