39 Amarnath Pilgrims Injured as Yatra Bus Overturns in Ganderbal
Srinagar, July 28 -- Ganderbal - At least 39 Amarnath Yatra pilgrims were injured after the bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and overturned near Gund in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district during the early hours of Tuesday, officials said.
An official said that the bus, bearing registration number AR11D-5655, was on its way to the Amarnath Cave Shrine when it met with the accident at the S-Mode stretch in Hariganiwan, leaving 31 passengers injured.
The bus fell on a house at Hariganwan after the driver lost control of the vehicle while navigating a curve. The house was badly damaged, but it prevented the bus from rolling into the Sindh river. No one was in the house at the time of the accident, the official said.
