Srinagar, Aug. 11 -- Srinagar- A 25-year-old woman was killed in an overnight road accident in the Kral Sangari area of Nishat in Srinagar, officials said on Tuesday.

An official said) that the accident occurred around 1:30 am, when a speeding vehicle bearing registration number JK01AR-0071 hit a road divider and overturned, reported news agency KNO.

He said a woman travelling in the vehicle sustained injuries and was shifted to a hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead upon arrival. The deceased was identified as Toboya Auyob (25), daughter of Muhammad Auyob, a resident of Barbar Shah, Srinagar.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident and further proceedings are underway.
