Srinagar, Aug. 10 -- Srinagar- Police have arrested two persons in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl in north Kashmir's Bandipora district, officials said on Monday.

Police received information about the alleged incident around noon on Sunday, following which an investigation was launched to ascertain the circumstances and identify those involved.

During the investigation, police identified two suspects who were not previously known to the minor, officials said.

A senior police officer said the accused were apprehended during overnight raids at different locations.
