Srinagar, July 27 -- Srinagar- A 10-year-old boy drowned in Wogbal Sar at Magam Bumdagar area of Handwara in North Kashmir's Kupwara district on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Aayan Tantary, son of Abdul Qayoom Tantary, a resident of Magam Bumdagar.

According to local sources, the boy slipped into the waters of Wogbal Sar while bathing and drowned, reported news agency GNS.

Locals, along with concerned authorities, launched immediate rescue efforts to retrieve the body.
