'Zero Casualty' Goal: Shah Calls For Disaster-Resilient Villages, Cities
Srinagar, Sept. 10 -- Srinagar- Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday directed the establishment of dedicated cells in all concerned departments to implement measures for building disaster-resilient villages and cities in the face of climate change and global warming.
Shah issued the direction while chairing the third meeting of the Governing Body of the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM).
In a post on X, Shah said NIDM had emerged as a national centre for research, innovation, policy support, training and cooperation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of "Zero Casualty" in disasters.
