'Work In Progress': J&K HC Declines PIL For AI-Driven Justice Reforms
Srinagar, Sept. 8 -- Srinagar- The High Court of J&K and Ladakh has declined to entertain, "at this stage", a Public Interest Litigation seeking sweeping AI-driven and technology-based reforms in the justice delivery system, observing that the petition was "premature" as digitisation of court records and development of applications to augment the justice delivery system are already "a work in progress."
Disposing a Public Interest Litigation titled Yang Burzhome (Aka Mohammad Ashfaq Hussain Handoo), a Division Bench of Chief Justice (Acting ) Sanjeev Kumar and Justice Mohd Yousuf Wani observed that issuing directions while existing initiatives are underway may not be conducive to their implementation.
