Srinagar, Sept. 30 -- Srinagar- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said Pashmina artisans carry Jammu and Kashmir's cultural memory and heritage to the world, stressing the need to safeguard the traditional craft while ensuring dignity, fair remuneration and wider recognition for artisans.

Sinha was speaking at the Pashmina Artisan Awards 2026, organised by the Pashmeena Entrepreneurs Makers and Artisans (PEMA) Foundation in Srinagar, where he felicitated artisans and congratulated the award winners.

Describing the ceremony as a celebration of Jammu and Kashmir's cultural prosperity, the LG said the awards honoured not just individual artisans but an entire artistic tradition that has captivated the world for generations.
