Srinagar, July 7 -- Srinagar- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday ordered a comprehensive audit and inspection of educational institutions across Jammu and Kashmir to check the availability and circulation of books and literature containing alleged anti-national, separatist or objectionable content.

Chairing a high-level meeting of senior officers, Sinha reviewed action taken over the circulation of such literature in educational institutions and directed authorities to put in place an effective mechanism to prevent its procurement, distribution and availability.

The directive covers universities, government and private colleges and schools, as well as public and private libraries.
