Srinagar, July 1 -- The Southwest Monsoon has advanced into most parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, covering the entire region on Wednesday, a day later than its normal onset date of June 30, the weatherman said.
According to Meteorological department here, the monsoon's arrival was accompanied by significant rainfall across parts of the Jammu region, with Samba recording the highest precipitation at 62.5 mm, followed by Jammu (35.8 mm), Kathua (23.8 mm) and Rajouri (19.6 mm) in 24 hours till 0830 hours today. Light rainfall was reported from other weather stations across J&K.
The minimum temperatures recorded also stayed normal across Kashmir Valley with Srinagar recording low of 23.3degC, 6.0degC above normal, while Qazigund recor...
