Srinagar, April 29 -- Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Chairman Faz Lul Haseeb on Wednesday said the civic body is working on a policy to provide designated spaces to food cart vendors in a bid to regulate their presence and prevent encroachment of roads in the city.

Speaking to reporters, Haseeb said the proposed policy aims to ensure that street vendors operate from identified zones so that public movement is not affected by unregulated roadside activity.

"We are working on a policy to provide designated space to food cart vendors so that their presence remains limited there and there is no encroachment of roads," he said.
