Srinagar, Oct. 3 -- The 'Kashmir Marathon-Run for Unity' held on Thursday has sent a simple message. Young people want a future built on peace, fitness, discipline and opportunity. More than 6,000 runners took part in this year's event. Children, youth and sports personalities joined the run. The growing participation deserves attention. It shows that sporting events can bring people together and give young people a positive space. The marathon also gives Jammu and Kashmir an opportunity to strengthen its sporting culture. Running is accessible to almost everyone. It needs little equipment. It can become a regular part of school, college and community life. The focus on fitness is also important.
