Srinagar, May 11 -- In a major shift from manual processes, the Jammu and Kashmir Directorate of Colleges on Monday launched a centralized online portal for degree college admissions for the upcoming academic session.
Director Colleges J&K, Dr Sheikh Aijaz Bashir, said the common portal, developed at the directorate level, went live on May 9.
"All 142 degree colleges and nearly 60 programs are visible on the portal," Dr Bashir said.
He stated that admissions will be strictly merit-based on 10+2 marks. Students have been asked to register and fill their college-program preferences on jkadmissions.in by May 27. The first merit list will be released on May 30, followed by a second list on June 8 and a spot round from June 18.
