Srinagar, Oct. 1 -- Rs 1.07 cr in bank accounts frozen, properties attached; probe extended to Punjab, Chandigarh

Srinagar Police have busted an alleged organised narcotics network operating in downtown Srinagar, arresting eight persons and recovering banned drugs, a pistol, Rs 85.76 lakh in cash and gold worth over Rs 1.05 crore, officials said.

Addressing a press conference, SSP Srinagar Dr G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy said the arrests were made during an investigation into an organised drug-supply network in which the accused allegedly performed different roles.

The case pertains to FIR No. 135/2026 registered at Police Station Safakadal under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, Arms Act and BNS.
