India, March 9 -- Defending champions India produced a dominant all-round performance to defeat New Zealand by 96 runs and successfully retain the ICC T20 World Cup title in the final played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Sunday.

After being put in to bat, India delivered a batting masterclass, posting a massive 255/5 in 20 overs.

Sanju Samson led the charge with a sensational 89 off 46 balls, smashing five fours and eight sixes. He was well supported by Abhishek Sharma, who scored a blistering 52 off just 21 balls, and Ishan Kishan, who added a quick 54 off 25 deliveries, keeping the scoring rate high throughout the innings.
