Srinagar, May 18 -- The Department of Community Medicine, Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, in collaboration with Block Hazratbal, organised a World Hypertension Day 2026 programme at UPHC Nishat with active public participation.The event began with a walkathon aimed at spreading awareness about hypertension, healthy lifestyle practices, and the importance of regular health check-ups in preventing non-communicable diseases.A screening-cum-awareness camp was later organised for people above 30 years of age. Participants were screened for Blood Pressure (BP), Random Blood Sugar (RBS), Hemoglobin (Hb), and Body Mass Index (BMI).
