Kulgam, June 1 -- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday said the administration is committed to eradicating the menace of drugs from society and will not rest until Jammu and Kashmir becomes a drug-free Union Territory.

Addressing a gathering in Kulgam, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted the government's intensified anti-narcotics campaign and said strict action is being taken against drug smugglers and peddlers across J&K.

He revealed that around 930 FIRs have been registered in connection with drug trafficking and narcotics-related offences, while more than 1,000 drug smugglers and peddlers have been arrested during the ongoing crackdown.
