Nigeria, Oct. 7 -- Members of the Tinubu Youth Force (TYF) in Kwara State have defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with the group's state chairman saying similar movements are being planned in other parts of the state.

The defection took place on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, during a PDP campaign programme themed "For a Greater Kwara 2027", where the defectors were formally received and presented with the party's flag.

Speaking at the event, the State Chairman of the Tinubu Youth Force, Prince Dr Ambali Sikiru Abidemi, confirmed the group's movement to the PDP but said the decision would not affect its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the presidential level.
