Nigeria, July 23 -- A Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced three men to life imprisonment for their involvement in the kidnapping of students and teachers at a school in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The convicts are Abdulrazak Umar, also known as Abu Khalifa or Abu Khalid; Yunusa Musa, also known as Yunusa bin Musa; and Shamsu Adamu Sani, also known as Abu Itisar.

Justice Salim Ibrahim handed down the sentences after the defendants pleaded guilty to some of the charges filed against them by the Federal Government.

The trio were arraigned on a 10-count charge bordering on terrorism, kidnapping, concealment of information, incitement and illegal mining.
