Party primaries trigger defection: 13 reps members quit APC, PDP
Sri Lanka, June 4 -- No fewer than 13 members of the 10th House of Representatives have formally quit to various political parties following the conclusion of party primaries, upon resumption from a four-week recess.
The Speaker of the House, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, who presided over Tuesday's plenary, read out all the notices of defection submitted by the lawmakers.
According to him, six lawmakers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Oyo State defected to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM). They are Hon.
