Nigeria, Aug. 23 -- The Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suffered another major setback following the resignation of former Patigi Local Government Chairman, Dauda Lata, from the ruling party.

Lata, a former member of the Kwara State House of Assembly, announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the APC chairman of Lade Ward III, citing worsening insecurity in his constituency, developments within the party and concerns over the political situation in the state.

The former council chairman said his decision followed extensive consultations with political leaders, associates, supporters and other stakeholders across Patigi, Kwara North and Kwara State.
