Bangladesh, Sept. 12 -- His Royal Majesty, Oba Moses Oyinloye Iwedunmoye I, the Onigbesi of Igbesi Land, has died days after he was released from the custody of kidnappers.

The monarch was abducted on August 22, 2026 and regained his freedom five days later.

His death was announced on Saturday by the National President of Omo Ibile Igbomina, Sir Bisi Fakayode.

According to the announcement, the monarch died on Saturday morning, September 12, 2026.

Fakayode expressed sadness over the death of the traditional ruler and prayed for the repose of his soul.
