Kwara, UNFPA to strengthen GBV data tracking, targets unified reporting, faster response to survivors
Nigeria, Sept. 30 -- The Kwara State Ministry of Women Affairs and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) have begun a review and validation of the Gender-Based Violence Case Information Management System (GBVCIMS) to improve the collection and reporting of GBV cases in the state.
The exercise, held on Monday at the ministry, brought together representatives of relevant ministries, security agencies, non-governmental organisations, civil society groups and ministry officials.
The Commissioner for Women Affairs, Opeyemi Oluwakemi Afolashade, said the review was aimed at strengthening participants' capacity to collect GBV data and improving the state's reporting system.
