Nigeria, April 27 -- The Kwara South Peoples Assembly has condemned the Omo Ibile Igbomina body's directive to all political aspirants of Igbomina origin to refrain from obtaining nomination forms until 29th April, 2026.
In a statement signed by Otunba Babatunde Akinyemi, Chairman, Kwara South Peoples Assembly, the body described the directive as 'insensitive, wrong, and a clear departure from the mandate of a socio-cultural organisation.
The body maintained that "Omo Ibile Igbomina was not founded to regulate the political aspirations of Igbomina sons and daughters, adding that it has no "business dictating when and how aspirants engage their political parties."
