Nigeria, Aug. 24 -- The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the All Progressives Congress (APC) of attempting to "weaponise" the police against opposition members over the recent political incident in Agaka, Ilorin.

The opposition party specifically condemned the invitation of Comrade Amuda Eleru Lagaka and other PDP supporters by the police over allegations bordering on assault, describing the development as politically motivated and an attempt to criminalise legitimate political opposition.

The PDP made its position known in a statement issued on Monday by its State Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Olusola Adewara.
