India, Oct. 26 -- India's hospitality investment story is expanding beyond its established metropolitan centres. The opportunity is substantial-but a hotel pipeline is not the same thing as sustainable tourism demand.

The Hotelivate-Savills 2026 Indian Hospitality Trends & Opportunities Report, published on 16 October, records a proposed pipeline of approximately 161,000 branded rooms, against an existing inventory of 209,180. Nearly 117,000 proposed rooms are classified as being in active development. These remain pipeline figures, not operating inventory.
