Dhaka, March 20 -- Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury announced that the Zia Memorial Museum in the Kazir Deuri area of the city will be soon declared as a heritage site.

Necessary renovation work will be carried out to address the infrastructure issues that have arisen due to long-term neglegence of the previous fascist government, he said, BSS reports.

The minister emphasized the importance of quickly repairing the museum, as its structural condition have worsened over time. Despite its beauty and historical significance, the lack of maintenance has made the establishment vulnerable, with a risk of damage in the event of a major earthquake.
