US overtakes India in Bangladesh trade
Bangladesh, Sept. 11 -- The United States retained its position as Bangladesh's second-largest trading partner in June, moving ahead of neighbouring India in four of the first six months of 2026 as the American market gains greater importance for the country's export-oriented economy.

The US ranked ahead of India in January, April, May and June, while India held the second position in February and March,, according to Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) data.
China remained Bangladesh's largest trading partner by a wide margin. In June, China accounted for Tk 342.58 billion in bilateral trade, compared with Tk 160.65 billion with the US and Tk 152.65 billion with India.
