Dhaka, March 15 -- A truck driver was killed in a road accident in Kamaldia area of Sadar upazila of Rajbari district on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Sajeeb, 25, son of Shahadat Hossain of Basila village in Natore district, reports BSS.

According to Highway Police, the accident occurred around 6:30 am when a potato-laden truck reportedly lost control while traveling on the road and overturned into a ditch.

Locals rushed to the spot and rescued the truck driver and took him to Rajbari Sadar Hospital where the on-duty physician Dr. Firoza Begum declared him dead upon arrival.

Officer-In-Charge of the Highway Police Station Mizanur Rahman confirmed the matter.
