Bangladesh, July 15 -- The government will buy three more liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes from the spot market by mid-August as most of the long-term suppliers skip supplying LNG due to the Middle East crisis and disruptions to the passage of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.

Advertisement State-run Rupantarita Prakritik Gas Company Ltd (RPGCL) has floated one re-tender and two fresh tenders to purchase the three cargoes for delivery over the August 1-2, August 5-6, and August 11-12 windows to meet the growing domestic demand.

The volume of the cargoes is approximately 3.36 million British thermal unit (MMBtu) each, according to a senior RPGCL official.
