Bangladesh, Sept. 23 -- At least three people were killed and three others injured when a truck hit an auto-rickshaw on Joydebpur-Tongi Road in the Dhirasram area of Gazipur city on Wednesday.

The accident occurred around noon in front of Dhirasram GK High School when the truck hit the Joydebpur-bound auto-rickshaw, leaving two people dead on the spot and four others injured, said Aminul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.

The injured were taken to a local hospital, where another victim died later.

Police seized the truck and arrested its driver.
