Ten international flights planned for HSIA 3rd terminal opening on Dec 16
Bangladesh, Sept. 23 -- The authorities plan to operate at least 10 international flights through the third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) on December 16, the day earmarked for its opening, amid challenges in finalising an operation-and- maintenance agreement with the Japanese operator.

Sources said discussions have largely been completed on the initial plan to operate 10 flights using two or three boarding bridges and conveyor belts, with passengers completing immigration and other travel formalities through the new terminal.
The number of flights will be maintained initially and gradually increased in line with the terminal's capacity, they said.
