Taka among region's most stable currencies
Bangladesh, Aug. 6 -- The Bangladesh taka remained one of the most stable currencies in South Asia and neighbouring economies over the past year, according to the latest quarterly report by Bangladesh Bank.

The central bank attributed the limited depreciation to tighter monetary and foreign exchange management, alongside the adoption of a more market-based exchange rate regime.
However, a few economies, including Pakistan, recorded an appreciation in the value of their currencies during the period.
The central bank's latest data showed that only Cambodia performed slightly better, with its currency depreciating by just 0.44 per cent over the period.
