Dhaka, Feb. 26 -- The Government of Sweden has provided 10 million Swedish Krona (approximately Tk 128 million) to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Bangladesh to strengthen access to integrated sexual and reproductive health services for vulnerable women and gender-diverse individuals.
The UNFPA Bangladesh stated on Tuesday that the initiative will expand stigma-free and rights-based health services in selected districts, aiming to ensure access to healthcare, protection, and support for those most at risk of exclusion.
Despite policy progress, many women and gender-diverse people in Bangladesh continue to face discrimination, violence and barriers in accessing health services, the statement said.
