Bangladesh, Sept. 30 -- Stocks closed higher on Wednesday, snapping a four-day losing streak as bargain hunters returned to recently beaten-down shares, although trading remained cautious amid concerns over the macroeconomic impact of the latest fuel-price hike.

The prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) gained 26 points, or 0.47 per cent, to close at 5,550, recovering part of the 72-point loss recorded over the previous four sessions.

Market participants said bargain hunting drove the rebound, with investors showing renewed interest in stocks that had undergone sharp corrections and appeared relatively attractive at current prices.
