Stocks open positive amid choppy trading
Bangladesh, Sept. 9 -- Stocks opened on a positive note on Wednesday as bargain hunting emerged, although overall market sentiment remained subdued amid lingering concerns among investors.

The positive opening came a day after the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the DSE Brokers Association (DBA) held an emergency meeting to discuss the recent market downturn and possible measures to address the situation.
Market insiders said investors remained largely cautious amid the persistent energy crisis and recent regulatory inspections of some brokerage firms.
The benchmark DSEX index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange rose 7 points, or 0.13 per cent, to 5,546 by 11:00 am when the report was filed.
