Stocks open higher on bargain hunting
Bangladesh, Oct. 7 -- Stocks opened higher on Wednesday as bargain hunters showed buying interest in recently beaten-down shares at relatively attractive prices after a four-day plunge.
However, a section of investors remained cautious ahead of earnings and dividend declarations, as well as over the potential impact of the latest fuel price hike.
The prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) gained 38 points, or 0.70 per cent, to 5,462 by 11:00 am, when the report was filed.
The blue-chip DS30 index advanced 10 points to 2,087, while the DSES index, which tracks Shariah-compliant stocks, gained 9 points to 1,084.
